From 25 May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) replaces current EU legislation covering the protection of personal data. In the UK it also replaces the Data Protection Act 1998. As a client, you need to know how information on you will be collected, stored and shared. The details below will be within the Client Agreement given to you prior to your first appointment.

I will keep the consultation form/agreement and any hand written notes in a locked cabinet accessible only by myself.
I may use email (Hotmail) to contact you. Your email address and any private information exchanged through emails between us will be kept in a secure password protected and encrypted folder
I may need to contact you by phone only if absolutely necessary. These details will be kept private and removed at the end of treatment.
.Any conversations we have over Zoom will be end to end encrypted. No notes of your sessions are kept on computer.
I will ask for your permission if I need to contact any external agencies (Doctor, Psychiatrist, Professional specialist, College/Work Counsellor or your current or previous therapist).
You are most welcome to take notes during the session.
Audio-recording:
Sometimes it may be useful for sessions to be Audio-recorded as it can also be helpful for both the client and therapist to listen back over sessions. Audio recordings are reviewed by me for the purpose of treatment planning and clinical supervision and remain confidential. All Audio-recordings are kept securely on a recording devise which is password protected and are completely erased when your treatment ends. This will be discussed with you and your permission will be required before any recording takes place. If you wish to record your own session, please inform me.
Erasing your Information. Once therapy sessions with me have finished. I will erase electronic copies of your information correspondence within one month.
As required by my insurance company, I will hold onto your written information for up to six years past the end of our working together. This is so that I have a reference of our work in situations sucandh as you returning to therapy in the future. After this time has passed, I will shred the written information.
